Creating value with Vodafone Hungary

Vodafone Magyarország Zrt. became a member of the Electronic Payment Service Providers Association (EFISZ) on 11 March 2019. The company is leading the way in digitisation in Hungary and among Hungarian enterprises, which includes the spreading of mobile payment solutions. Recognising the market demand for mobile payment services, in early 2016 the company launched ReadyPay, a service aimed to support small and medium-sized enterprises primarily, which was a unique contribution to the transition to non-cash, electronic payment services in Hungary.

“Vodafone is always striving to deliver the best services possible to its clients,” said Dr. Gergő J. Budai, Deputy CEO and Director of External Affairs at Vodafone Hungary. “Vodafone is committed to digitisation in Hungary. These efforts include the acquisition of UPC Hungary, which was announced last year and is currently awaiting the approval of the competition authority, and Vodafone’s participation in the work of Hungary’s 5G Coalition and Artificial Intelligence Coalition. With all this, we were naturally happy to join the Electronic Payment Service Providers Association,” added Dr. Gergő J. Budai.

“The competitiveness of Hungary depends on how and to what extent the major operators in the economy are able and willing to cooperate and to create values together for future generations. Our primary aim with establishing EFISZ was to become an association of companies with professional competence and responsibility that can create values and build a brighter future together. With its innovative solutions and the outstanding active role it plays in society, Vodafone Magyarország Zrt. will be a valued and exemplary member of EFISZ,” said Mihály Veres, President of the Electronic Payment Service Providers Association.
