The formation of the new Board of the EFISZ and the re-election of the former Chairman and Secretary-General of the Association

The members of the assembly of the Electronic Payment Service Providers’ Association (EFISZ) made a decision regarding the election of the new Board members and the amendment of the Articles of Association of the Association due to the new Board members. The former Chairman and Secretary-General of the Association were re-elected again at the year-end extraordinary Board meeting.

Due to the end date (17 November 2021) of the mandate of the former members of the Board, the assembly of the Association of EFISZ elected the following new members of the Board: BENYÓ Péter, VERES Mihály, KISS Ferenc, CSÁKI Béla, dr. CZIMER József, dr. SELMECZI-KOVÁCS Zsolt, FORRAI Péter, KEIGER Tamás and MAJLÁTH Zsolt. The term of their mandates will last for 5 years, ending on 17 November 2026–as laid down in the Articles of Association.

The Chairman of the assembly is elected from among the elected Board members according to the Articles of Association of the EFISZ in force. VERES Mihály was elected by the Board to be the Chairman of the EFISZ for another 3 years’ term on 29 November 2021.

The mandate of the Secretary-General of the EFISZ ends on 28 November 2021. The Secretary-General is elected by the Board upon the recommendation of the Chairman for a term of 5 years according to the Articles of Association. VERES Mihály Chairman recommended DÁVIDHÁZY Gábor again for Secretary-General of the EFISZ and requested the Board’s decision on the Board meeting of the Association in November.

“Looking back at the past two years, it should be noted that the foundation of the European Digital Finance Association (EDFA) was an important milestone in the professional development of the EFISZ association. We are proud that the EDFA non-profit organisation took part in the creation of the European Digital Finance Strategy as an official consultant partner of the European Union. The most important lesson learned in the current situation is that domestic digitalisation has developed very rapidly due to the coronavirus pandemic. New ideas, cooperation and solutions were created. At EFISZ, we are shaping the future of financial technology together. We are striving to continue this expert work in 2022.”- said DÁVIDHÁZY Gábor, the Secretary-General of the Electronic Payment Service Providers’ Association.
