Electronic Payment Trends” were discussed during the round table talks of the third Mobile Payment Symposium.

Nemzeti Mobilfizetési Zrt. organized its third Mobile Payment Symposium at the Magyar Tudományos Akadémia (Hungarian Academy of Sciences). During the event, EFISZ (Electronic Payment Service Providers Association) held a round table discussion on the ‘Electronic Payment Trends’ with the representatives of GIRO Zrt., Magyar Államkincstár, Budapest Bank Zrt., MKB Bank Zrt., the Takarék Group and Nemzeti Mobilfizetési Zrt.

Discussion partners were concerned with issues such as how they think electronic payment will transform in the next 5 to 6 years, what channels will be used, what the experiences are, what trends are visible, and whether POS use will be transformed, and if so, how (it has already started with PayPass for example) and what is the future of POS.

The participants of the discussion organized by EFISZ unanimously stated that strengthening financial awareness was important and shall be prioritized due to the upcoming new payment solutions, as well as emerging fintech companies. The participants of the round table agreed that the introduction of PSD2 and GDPR requires further education for both service providers and the general public.
